My First Creation in Brushes

Since this is really my first “Brushes Post” and I’m just sorta playing with the whole idea, I wanted to explain a little bit why I’m doing these things. I downloaded the popular iPhone app “Brushes” created by Steve Sprang. I completely fell in love with this, and it gave me some hope that I would renew my promise to be a better classical artist, or at least stay in touch with my artsy side, free of the restrictions of tutorials or any sort of technical step-by-step process. My first creation is called “The Relationship.”

The Relationship by Ryan Quintal

In this work, it was my first time through the program, so I had some stumbling points, and was learning only to work with limited layers, but I ended up being really delighted with the results. I wanted to represent the core parts of human relationships in my opinion. The red representing passion or the concepts of “love” which dominated the majority of the picture, along with the feelings people have for each other off to the left of the love. I started in with gold for trust, and yellow too. The truth is that gold runs through love and also stave’s off the green desire and doubt that we have in our lives. The blue is quite simply experience. Our experiences with each other are meaningful, and they sit next to our ability to trust, and doubt, and serve as the “cap” that helps us be able to determine if we love them or not.
